About this place
When a craving for tonkatsu strikes late at night, Matsuya’s Abiko branch, which shares its premises with Matsunoya, is a handy option. One diner who visited late at night wrote that they ordered the double set meal, with 2 loin cutlets, and enjoyed the generous portion. The branch also houses Matsuben KITCHEN, and its listing says it is open 24 hours a day.
The standard loin cutlet set meal comes with miso soup and is listed at 780 yen. Other choices include a miso loin cutlet set meal, served with miso sauce, and one topped with coarsely grated daikon and special ponzu for a fresher flavour. You can have a set meal with rice, or opt for a loin cutlet rice bowl, with egg simmered in Matsunoya’s own katsudon sauce.
If a loin cutlet alone is not quite enough, the menu also lists combinations with fried prawns or fried horse mackerel. You can dine in or take your food away, depending on the occasion.
